October 18, 2026

How to place approved shots on a timeline, adjust their visual and audio properties, apply effects, navigate the sequence, manage timelines, and render the final video.

‍

Step 1: Add an Approved Shot to the Timeline

You are now in the timeline workspace.
Place your approved shot onto the timeline editor by dragging and dropping it from your media area into the timeline.

Step 2: Adjust Basic Clip Properties in the Inspector

Once the shot is added, the inspector opens automatically, allowing you to refine the clip.

You can:

  • Reposition the video, including moving it partially or completely out of the frame.
  • Rotate the video.
  • Adjust the clip’s opacity to make it more or less transparent.
  • Add a corner radius to round the edges of the video frame.
  • Change the playback rate to speed up or slow down the clip.

‍

Step 3: Add and Preview Fade‑In and Fade‑Out

Use the inspector to add smooth transitions at the beginning and end of your clip.

  • Add a fade‑in to the video.
  • Play the clip to preview the fade‑in effect.

Press the play button to watch the transition.

Step 4: Control Audio Levels and Audio Fades

Refine your audio levels and transitions within the same inspector panel.

You can:

  • Increase or decrease the volume in decibels.
  • Add an audio fade‑in at the start or end of the clip.

Step 5: Apply Color and Film Effects

Open the effects section to enhance the look of your clip.

  • Go to the effects area.
  • Add color and grading effects, and adjust them by dragging on the graph controls.
  • Add film grain and fine‑tune the intensity of the grain effect.

If you make a change you do not want:

  • Press Ctrl + Z to undo the last adjustment.
  • Review the last save date, and use the save option to store your current state.

Step 6: Add Additional Scenes and Navigate the Timeline

You can add more approved scenes and move around the timeline to review your work.

  • Drag another approved scene onto the timeline.
  • Move the playhead along the timeline to navigate through your sequence.
  • Press the play button to preview playback.
  • Use the skip‑scene or jump controls to move quickly to the end of a scene.

Step 7: Prepare to Render Your Video

When your timeline is ready and you are satisfied with the edits, proceed to render.

  • Confirm you are ready to render out your video.
